Throughout our academic and professional life, we are frequently required to speak in front of other people and to present information in oral, written and visual form. In this course you will be able to develop your presentation skills: choosing a topic, researching your topic, organizing the information in a logical sequence, presenting your topic, avoiding stage fright, using visuals and other props to support your presentation, and preparing PowerPoint presentations.

You will be expected to take active participation in the class discussions and activities and to evaluate and give feedback to your peers when they are performing. You will work individually and in groups in order to prepare your oral presentations. You will also be required to keep a portfolio where all the written assignments will be collected and presented for evaluation when asked.

Evaluation is based on class participation, a portfolio of written assignments, a final presentation and a term paper. Regular attendance (minimum of 50%; preferably 70+%) is mandatory.
