TASK 8: Writing the conclusion

The main aim of the conclusion is to show the reader that you have successfully answered the quest ion that was set. It does not include any new information, but it summarises the main points made in the body of the essay. It should draw your argument to a close and it also needs to link back to the thesis statement in your introduction. You need to repeat the main ideas in the conclusion, but you do not want to simply w rite the same sentences again. One way of linking back to the thesis statement is to rewrite it (that is, to paraphrase the ideas and the language). You can use synonyms to do this, or you can rearrange the order and also change some of the grammar.
