Course study guide
Dear colleagues,
We are almost ready to start our class on Databases in Finance - the class that will teach you how to create, manipulate and use databases for business purposes. Along the way you would learn the key theoretical concepts behind data management systems and data transformation. As well as learn lots of practical skills on at least two different database management systems, and be acquainted with a third.
Majority of the class will be focused on doing practical assignments. But in order to be able to do them, you would need to cover the theoretical aspects - there are video recordings for each important topic and also additional resources provided.
This class throughout the semester is going to be 100% online - not only because the way the requirements for offline classes are written, it would be a major nuisance, BUT also because for this particular class this is the more useful form of teaching. Having said that - try as much as possible to use PC (desktop or laptop) with Windows, especially once we start doing the exercises. Using mobile devices is always easier, but they still do not cover the full spectrum of capabilities which are needed for the course.
The platform for online classes is going to be Zoom.
