Preliminary requirements – middle level of English language skills

Purpose of the course:
The main purpose of the course is to acquaint the students with the main monuments of the Bulgarian cultural heritage and to form in them systematic knowledge for the main problems, concerning the preservation of the monuments. Another purpose of the course is to make the students capable of searching and working with information and literature in this sphere.

Annotation:
There are thousands of cultural monuments with local, national and international importance, discovered in the Bulgarian lands. The greater part of them is preserved in the Bulgarian museums and some of them are exhibited in situ. In this elective course for exchange students are presented in chronological aspect the most significant cultural monuments. Besides the theoretical part, the course includes walking tours in the museums in Sofia, as well as visits to the Boyana church, the Rila monastery, Koprivstitsa, The valley of the Thracian kings, Perpericon etc.

Form of examination - writing an essay.
Requirements for admission to the exam – paper on a specific topic.

Credits – 6.
