Error analisis of 5 samples of IL material of your own choice. This time this has to show familiarity with Pit Corder's algorythm for EA and the classification/description of the errors in terms of linguistic levels and categories, the 4 formal processes/transformations: omission, addition, (mis)ordering and (wrong)choice/ selection. Also a hypothesis for the possible causes of the error (inter/intralingual, the five processes listed in Selinker's article on IL)

This represent the smantic field of verbs of cooking in English and German. Think of the Bulgarian verbs of cooking. How about Bg ПЕКА and its English equivalent(s)? Is there a danger of negative transfer on the basis of the dominant translation equivalent in the situation of divergent polysemy? Do we have a verb corresponding to SIMMER?
